A native of Wichita, Kansas, Marty got his start in
his Dad's band. In 1984, Marty worked for the Ozark Opry, where according to him, Lee Mace taught him the finer lines
of showmanship. From there, he played on the Missouri Opry for seven years. In 1998, Marty took first for male
vocalist in the Jimmy Dean - True Value talent contest. Marty has played in opening bands for Travis Tritt, Neil McCoy,
Mel McDaniel, Hank Thompson, Faron Young and Mark Chestnut. He also played drums for Connie Smith.
